We made it....!!
We made it through another NJ winter. This weekend's weather proved to me that we are out of winter. Temps in the upper 60's and low 70's and quite breezy. Most all the plants are starting to blossom and bloom. Lots of the daffys are up and most of the trees are starting to bud. Around the neighborhood the forsythias are all bright yellow and less than a week from peak blooms. The ornamental pear and cherry trees are starting to open as well.
Weazer and I spent a good part of Sunday working in the yard. Lots of clean up, raking and pulling out old dead plants. I finally cut down the rhodo's in the front garden, as they were really overgrown and ugly. Not to mention that they were nothing but deer food.
The yard service starts this week. Hopefully they can help salvage the lawn. There is a lot of dead spots, and in most other areas the grass seems thin and weak.
Next weekend we'll plan on planting some stuff along the back wall. Weazer is thinking about boxwood. They would be really nice.
